This course examines the major political, social, economic, and diplomatic trends that have shaped the United States from the end of Reconstruction tothe present. Special attention is given to the experience of the nation's diverse ethnic and cultural groups and America's place in the global community of regional and international relations. As a writing intensive course,AMH 2020 will allow students the chance to explore the subject through a v ariety of college-level writing exercises that may include essay exams, book reviews, reaction papers, and other discipline specific writing. The primary General Education learning outcome for this class is Critical Thinking:Demonstrate the skills necessary for analysis, synthesis, evaluation, deci sion making, critical and creative thinking and the creative process.
