This course explores ethical issues in the health care and medical fields. Topics include clinical bioethics, healthcare organizational ethics, philosophy of medicine, medical ethics and the law, conflict resolution in the context of medical ethics, decision making and values, life support, euthanasia, abortion, AIDS, genetic engineering. Students will acquire the necessary skills to address the most significant problems in the medical and healthcare fields. This course is especially valuable for students in health sciences and public policy, but it is relevant to the interests of students in all degree and certificate programs.
