This course is primarily a reading course that familiarizes students with selected masterpieces of World Literature (emphasizing non-Western Literature) from a variety of periods and locations prior to the 18th Century. Students will analyze, synthesize, and evaluate literature and literary contexts in classroom discussions and writing. LIT2110 qualifies as a writing intensive Gordon Rule course. It also fulfills the SF General Education Multicultural and Global Awareness category and fulfills the Global Socio-Cultural Responsibility General Education Learning Outcome.
