Upon completion of the course, the student will have a basic understanding of the care and handling of the endoscopic equipment including storage, testing, decontamination, disinfection and preparation for use. Modules include anatomy and physiology review relevant to endoscopy procedures, essential communication, roles and responsibilities of the endoscopy team, equipment, risk management, safety, reprocessing/infection control and emergency preparedness.
