Hip Hop Dance 2 3.0

This course will take the student into a more detailed look at Hip Hop culture and history as it relates to dance. This class will begin at a higher proficiency than level I to cultivate creative technique within a hybrid of jazz and funk styles. Awareness of this creative technique will then facilitate the deconstruction of societal gender extremes with the embodiment of krump, wacking, and vogue. Cardio intensive movement pertaining to each Hip Hop form will evolve longer choreographic sequences from week to week. The purpose will be to hone both physical skills and analytical critical thinking necessary to create contemporary Hip Hop reflections. Lecture notes for each new class concept will serve as course materials to facilitate class.
